Due to the urgent need to expand the cemeteries of Tarim city in Hadramout Valley, Al-Wedad Foundation for Development launched the project of great expansion of Zanbal cemetery in Tarim – Hadramout. This need was because of the large number of population in the city and the surrounding villages, the arrival of displaced people from some Yemeni governorates as a result of current situation in the country, the recent return of some immigrants from abroad , and the small area of those cemeteries,
This project is to be carried out together with benefactors who contribute in serving the country with sort of charitable and developmental projects. The land area of this project is 9323 square meters and it is located southeast the existing cemetery. The total price of the land is about SR1,600,00 ($423,000). The number of shares is 32 and the value of each share is $13,230. The estimated duration to implement the project is about 6 months at various stages .
The supervising committees of the project began field visits to the site to collect statistics and provide public evaluations about the project, and according to which the land of the project was bought. The operational and implementation work of the project began on 18th Rabi al-Thani 1440 (15th December 2019). The beginning was by building the stone foundation with a height of two meters and a half [one meter below ground level + one meter and a half above ground level]. This stage of the project was completed and the next stages continued until the completion of the final stage.
